"Helping" vs. Owning

The 'helping' frame treats one partner as the default owner of a household domain and the other as an assistant who pitches in. It sounds generous, but it quietly settles the question of whose responsibility it fundamentally is — which is why Daminger found even couples who reject traditional gender roles in principle can still describe a gendered division of labor as a neutral, practical outcome, rather than naming who owns what.
