1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the RealityWipe mobile application, website, web application, and related services (together, the “Service”). “RealityWipe,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the operator of the Service.
This policy covers information we process directly and information handled for us by service providers. It does not replace the privacy policies of Apple, Google, or other services you choose to use.
We use your information to run and personalize RealityWipe. We do not sell personal information, run third-party ads, or use your private content to train our own general-purpose AI models.
2. Data we collect
Account and identity data
RealityWipe can create an anonymous account when you first use the app. If you later sign in with Apple, Google, or an email link, we may receive and store your email address, name when provided, a provider-specific account identifier, attached sign-in methods, device label, session records, language, and time zone. Apple may provide a private relay email address if you choose Hide My Email.
Content you provide
We store the material you enter to use the Service, which can include old thoughts or “scripts,” onboarding answers, goals, triggers, avoided feelings, desired identity and values, proof actions, check-ins, missed attempts, feedback, and messages sent to personalized features. We also store scripts, classifications, summaries, and other outputs created for you.
Voice recordings
If you grant microphone permission and record a take, we upload the audio to private object storage linked to your account. We also store recording metadata such as duration, recording type, creation time, and the protocol it belongs to. Audio may be trimmed and normalized on our infrastructure for playback.
Reminders, activity, and device data
We may store your notification token, reminder schedule, time zone, locale, playback and completion events, streaks, subscription state, session timestamps, and a device label. Our servers also process IP addresses, request details, and logs for rate limiting, troubleshooting, and security.
Purchases
Apple handles payment details. We receive subscription information needed to unlock features, such as a product identifier, entitlement status, renewal or expiration time, and a RevenueCat app-user identifier. We do not receive your full card or bank-account details.
Website information
Self-assessment and knowledge-quiz answers on the public website are calculated in your browser and are not sent to us by those quiz components. If you submit an email address to a waitlist, sign-in, support, or other form, we receive the information you submit. The signed-in web application uses a secure session cookie; the public landing pages do not use advertising cookies.
3. How we use data
We use information for the following purposes:
- create and secure accounts, authenticate sign-ins, and maintain sessions;
- provide, personalize, and improve scripts, protocols, playback, check-ins, and progress features;
- store, process, and play your voice recordings;
- schedule and deliver reminders you enable;
- manage subscriptions, restore purchases, and enforce feature access;
- respond to support requests and send requested sign-in emails;
- measure product usage using event data designed not to include the text of your reflections;
- prevent abuse, enforce limits, debug failures, protect the Service, and comply with law.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of our contract with you, your consent (for example, microphone or notification permission), our legitimate interests in securing and improving the Service, and compliance with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent through device settings or by contacting us, but that does not affect processing that already occurred lawfully.
4. AI processing
RealityWipe uses Anthropic’s commercial API to generate and classify personalized text. Depending on the feature, we may send your current text together with relevant account context such as goals, triggers, installed scripts, recent proof receipts, recent misses, and style preferences. This context can be sensitive, so avoid entering information about another person that you do not have the right to provide.
We do not send your voice recordings to Anthropic for transcription, generation, or model training. The AI receives text context, not your audio files.
We do not use your private content to train our own general-purpose models. Anthropic states that, by default, inputs and outputs from its commercial products are not used to train its models unless the customer opts in or submits certain feedback. See Anthropic’s explanation. AI output may be inaccurate or unsuitable and should not be treated as medical advice.
6. Notifications and sensitive previews
Notifications are optional. If enabled, RealityWipe sends a push token and the notification payload through Expo and Apple’s push service. A reminder may include a personalized script or related text. Depending on your device settings, that text can appear on a locked screen where other people can see it.
You can disable notifications or hide previews in iOS Settings. Disabling notifications does not delete your account or stored content.
7. Retention and deletion
We generally keep account data and content while your account is active so the Service can preserve your history and personalize later sessions. Session, security, rate-limit, email-delivery, transaction, and server records may follow shorter or longer retention periods based on their purpose and legal requirements.
You can delete your account inside the app. Account deletion removes the account’s live database records and voice objects from our active systems. Residual copies may remain temporarily in restricted backups and logs until they are overwritten through ordinary retention cycles. We may retain limited transaction, security, fraud-prevention, or legal records when required or permitted by law. Aggregated or de-identified statistics that no longer identify you may also remain.
Deleting an account does not automatically cancel an Apple subscription. Cancel it separately in your Apple subscription settings. For deletion help or removal of a waitlist email, contact us at the address below.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- request access to, correction of, or a portable copy of your personal information;
- request deletion or restriction of certain processing;
- object to certain processing or withdraw consent;
- appeal a denied privacy request or complain to your local data-protection authority;
- receive equal service without unlawful discrimination for exercising a privacy right.
You can manage microphone, notification, and tracking permissions in iOS Settings; manage subscriptions in your Apple account; revoke sessions in the app; and delete the account in the app. You may also email us. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
9. Security and international transfers
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including encrypted network transport, scoped access, private object storage, hashed session tokens, and revocable sessions. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Protect your device passcode and contact us if you believe your account has been compromised.
We and our providers may process information in countries other than where you live, including the United States. Those countries may have different privacy laws. Where required, we use contractual or other lawful safeguards for international transfers.
10. Children
RealityWipe is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If local law requires parental consent for a user under the age of majority, that user may use the Service only with valid consent from a parent or guardian. Contact us if you believe a child provided information without the required consent.
11. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the Service, providers, or law changes. We will post the revised policy, change the effective date, and provide additional notice when required. Material changes apply prospectively unless law permits otherwise.
